How to use the Ojibwe People's Dictionary

Ojibwa miniature fish net float

Description:
This miniature fishing net float is made of a lightweight, light-color wood, probably cedar. It is an oblong shape, wound with a strip of black plant fiber near one end. Probably made as a model for display at the Mille Lacs [Minn.] Indian Museum; full size floats are about 12 inches long and fastened to one edge of the net with stone sinkers on the other edge. Floats are fastened to the edge of a net.
