How to use the Ojibwe People's Dictionary

=miseny- nad

STEM OF: older sister; STEM OF: older female parallel cousin (father's brother's daughter; mother's sister's daughter)

Note:
There is no simple independent word for older sister. A personal prefix goes with the dependent noun stem /=miseny-/ older sister to make a full word:
  • nimisenh my older sister (1s-3s)
  • gimisenh your older sister (2s-3s)
  • omisenyan h/ older sister
    • [MN] omisenyan h/ older sister/older sisters (3s-3')
    • [BL] omisenyan h/ older sister (3s-3's)
    • [BL] omisenya’ h/ older sisters (3s-3'p)
The same terms are used for an older female parallel cousin (father's brother's daughter; mother's sister's daughter).
