How to use the Ojibwe People's Dictionary

Note:
There is no simple independent word for knee. A personal prefix goes with the dependent noun stem /=gidigw-/ knee to make a full word:
  • nigidig, ningidig, ingidig my knee (1s-0s)
  • gigidig your knee (2s-0s)
  • ogidig h/ knee (3s-0s)

Individual speakers and speakers from different regions use different words when speaking. Each audio recording is marked with the initials of the Ojibwe speaker.
