How to use the Ojibwe People's Dictionary

Note:
There is no simple independent word for tail (of a bird). A personal prefix goes with the dependent noun stem /=nashkidy-/ tail (of a bird) to make a full word:
  • onashkid its tail (3s-0s)
The following might occur when birds speak (as in stories) or are spoken to:
  • ninashkid my tail (1s-0s)
  • ginashkid your tail (2s-0s)
